And we are off. There are three of us that left this morning heading south from Cumming, myself, Vickey, and Julie. We are planning to take the highway to get down just below Macon, and then we are switching over to backroads. We headed out of Cumming at 5am. It was still an interesting ride through ATL at 6am. Never a dull moment inside the perimeter.
The Video Ride for Friday!
Here is a video of our ride and sites down. Started the video before we got to Jekyll heading over the Sydney Lanier Bridge from Brunswick to Jekyll Island.
We stopped for a bite to eat south of ATL and continued to head south to Macon. Lane joined us there and it was perfect “join in”! We met up with Barb, who rode down the night before and bunked up with Virginia and Mike, and Karla, who came down 441 in Dublin, GA. Vickey continued on the Highway to St. Augustine. I rode on with the Jekyll bound crew.

Finally Made it To Jekyll Island
We stopped at Jekyll Island for lunch at Tortuga Jacks and then headed to the end on the island to visit Driftwood Beach. It was a good afternoon, but it really made for a long ride that day. All and all, I had never been to Jekyll so it was worth it to me.

This is a quick slide show off as we drove through the island in one area. I love the live oaks. They are worth enduring the heat all on their own!
We ended up walking over to the Sunset Grille for some dinner. Mike and Virginia had already started the appetizers for the group! We had to eat somewhere close – they had already Uber-ed into downtown and back!
